How did it all get started?

Our first games were made from scraps of wood lying around the garage. The games weren’t intended to launch a new company—just an interesting weekend project, and something fun for the family to play. But our kids caught the fever and wanted to make their own game. So together we worked with crayons, markers, and butcher paper to sketch out the kids' very own board game.

That’s when it hit. This is really fun. Not just playing the game, but making it, too. And if we enjoyed making our own games, maybe other people would. But the butcher paper technique takes a lot of work—and if you make a mistake or want to change something, well, you can’t.

That’s when the idea for Flibbix™ was born. Why not make a game where you get to make your own board game and then play it? And since it’s all reusable, you can change the board around each time—or even during the game. Well, the rest is history. Flibbix has gotten a lot better since the first foam core and wood prototypes, but the basic idea is still the same.

It turns out other people really enjoy making their own games, too. Flibbix makes it easy, but we’re still amazed by the fun and creativity we see when people make and play their own Flibbix games. What will yours be like?
